Cleveland Surgery is part of the Welby Group of surgeries and this role includes working for the Welby Groups other practices. The role is based at Cleveland Surgery and will not require the successful candidate to travel.

What you will do in your working day

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Processing letters from secondary care on to patients’ records
  • Processing post and emails
  • Liaising with healthcare professionals in the surgery and outside agencies
  • Running reports and collating information
  • Sending text message links to patients to book appointments, complete questionnaires.
  • Working on the IT processes of the surgery and liaising with our IT team
  • Working on main reception to cover sickness and breaks, this will be a small part of the job role. 
  • Answering the telephones
  • Using our IT system Systm1

To be successful you should have a pleasant, warm personality, as part of the role is customer service.   Good at time management and working to deadlines.

The successful candidate should be able to work on their own initiative and as part of our busy surgery.

Full training will be given whilst you are working for the surgery both internally and externally through are training platforms.  There are lots of opportunities to upskill your knowledge.

There may be some reception duties to cover sickness and breaks.  The successful applicant will gain a wealth of knowledge, skills and training during their time at the surgery.

The training you will be getting

The successful candidate will work towards achieving their Apprenticeship Standard qualification in Level 3 Business Administration.

A dedicated work-based trainer will be assigned to the candidate to provide them with support and guidance throughout the course. This is a prominently work-based programme with College attendance required once a month. All learning will take place at the candidate's place of employment/College and within their contracted working hours.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship there is a possibility to work at Cleveland Surgery or group admin role within the Welby Group of Practices.
