What you will do in your working day
This is a busy and multi-faceted role involving company administration and customer service skills. With close mentoring support and training the apprentice will report to the General Manager. The range of tasks will be;
Administration General
• Promptly respond to all furniture rental enquiries, via email or telephone
• Prepare quotes/proposals on website or InspHire
• Process customer orders, including credit checks, hire agreements & invoices
• Select and reserve customer items on InspHire according to quote or customer requirement
• Liaise with the warehouse staff to ensure correct and complete fulfilment of customer orders
• Coordinate deliveries and collections
• Deal with any pre/aftersales queries, oversee any remedial works
• Share in the management of the office diary
• Maintain existing corporate relationships
• Take responsibility for maintaining a clean and safe office environment.
Warehouse & Stock
• OnHire/OffHire, exchange/sell/scrap stock on InspHire as required
• Monitor levels, order, track delivery when required for linen, towel, kitchen & utility pack items and hamper consumables
• Check stock deliveries for quantity and quality, liaise with supplier if items not as expected
• Ensure invoice reflects delivered stock & agreed costs, before forwarding for payment
• Make up hampers and ensure enough available for upcoming deliveries.
The training you will be getting
The practical period is the time dedicated to the development of the knowledge, skills and behaviours for your apprenticeship which includes the following components;
• Level 2 Diploma in Customer Service (optional)
• Customer Service Practitioner Standard - Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours.
• Maths and English Level 1 and evidence of working towards Level 2 Maths and English (exemptions apply).
The apprentice would be assigned a Business Services assessor through the college, who would typically come out to visit in the workplace to assess workplace competence. The knowledge side would be provided via workshop remote sessions, assignments, evidence of workplace competence. Portfolio would be checked via an online Smart Assessor.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
There will be opportunities to progress into senior roles within the company once successfully completed the apprenticeship.
