What you will do in your working day

You will be leading a HR project with mentorship by the HR Manager, enhancing our employees experience here at Tait. You will also work with our MD and other managers around quality, H&S, and finance. This role will give you a great overview of skills required to be successful in a business environment and provide you with excellent business admin and management experience.
You will be based at our Swavesey office in Cambridge 5 days a week to ensure you get exposure to the day to day running of the business. You will be mentored by the HR Manager and the MD. You will be working on a mixture of projects and day to day business admin that is required. You will work with all departments in the business during your 18 months apprenticeship. Leaving you with a good understanding of business and what area of a business you would like to get more involved in or progress into.

Administrative Assistance:
●       Provide general administrative support such as managing phone calls, emails, and office correspondence.
●       Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements for team members.
●       Maintain and organise physical and electronic files and documents.
●       Attend meetings and take meeting minutes

Data Entry and Record Keeping:
●       Input and manage data in databases, spreadsheets, and other systems.

●       Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of business activities.

●       Prepare reports and summaries as needed.

●       Draft and proofread business correspondence, reports, and documents.

●       Ensure effective communication within the organisation.
●       Coordinate office maintenance activities

 

Project Coordination and Support
●       Assist in project planning, execution, and monitoring.

●       Coordinate project timelines and resources.

●       Compile project reports and updates for management.

●       Collaborate with project teams to support the successful execution of projects.

●       Assist in tracking project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.

●       Provide administrative support for project-related activities.

Human Resources
Recruitment Support:
●       Assist in the coordination of recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate screening, and interview scheduling. The position will not include conducting any interviews.

●       Maintain applicant tracking system (ATS) and ensure accurate and up-to-date records of candidates.
 
Onboarding and Orientation:
●       Support the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing paperwork, orientation sessions, and assisting with the completion of required documentation.

●       Collaborate with various departments to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new employees.
 
HR Communication:
●       Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and general HR information.

●       Assist in the preparation and distribution of internal communications related to HR updates and events.

The training you will be getting

You will achieve an Apprenticeship qualification in Business Administration level 3 via a work mentor and Cambridge Regional College.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

After this apprenticeship you will have a better understanding of what gets you going in the business world. You will know what area of the business you have enjoyed most and would like to progress into. This could be into General Management, HR, Finance, Marketing, Operations… lots of different avenues you could look at the end of this course.

Things to consider

There will be opportunities for the apprentice to lead upon projects become an employer of choice. Working with workplace accreditations to gain status. This will be a minimum of 6 months of work. The MD will also provide a project with mentoring support.
