About the employer

Whitchurch Pre-school is situated in the idyllic village of Whitchurch-on-Thames, South Oxfordshire. Located within the grounds of Whitchurch Primary School, it has a large, safe and enclosed garden. Our team is committed to providing a secure and caring environment where children can learn and develop at their own pace within a happy atmosphere. We realise that all children are individuals with differing needs and abilities and at Whitchurch Pre-School we endeavour to respond and adapt to each child. Our setting is able to offer free places for 3 and 4 year olds (funded by the government) for 15 or up to 30 hours per week during term time. We do ask parents/ guardians to consider contributing to a voluntary top-up fee scheme, an hourly top-up donation of £1.85 per hr if they are in a financial position to do so, in order to help close the gap between Government-funded contribution per child and the preschool's hourly fees, which reflect the true running costs. We are a registered charity and our pre-school operates as a non-profit organisation. As a community group managed by a voluntary parent/carer-led committee, we encourage parents to offer their time to participate in fundraising events: from helping to organise a fundraising evening e.g. bingo, to baking cakes for a weekend cake sale. As a small local setting run by a volunteer committee and with many families getting involved in our fundraising and social events, the preschool benefits from a lovely sense of community and is a great way to meet new friends, for parents and carers as well as the children!
