What you will do in your working day

  • Working effectively with protocols
  • Observing legal and organisational requirements (i.e Patient Confidentiality)
  • Demonstrating a satisfactory standard of computer literacy and competence, including knowledge and experience of working with software such as word, excel and other Microsoft packages
  • Operation of administration systems
  • Producing accurate data input and reporting
  • Addressing personal development needs and attending training courses
  • Handling queries (with patients and other agencies) on the telephone and in person
  • Liaising with the management partner/Assistant Manager, practice and attached staff and outside agencies
  • General Administration (photocopying, filling, shredding etc
  • Inputting data onto the computer system
  • Liaising with internal and external colleagues regarding a patient’s care
  • Monitoring quality and outcomes framework performances and actively contributing to achieve higher QOF thresholds
  • Communication and working relationship with Management Partner / Assistant Manager, Clinicians and attached practice staff, Secondary Care, Community Staff and other outside agencies
  • To Understand Medical Coding
  • To learn Medical Terminology

The training you will be getting

  • You will attend Boston College at least twice a month where you will receive one-to-one support from your assessor
  • On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will achieve a Business Administrator Level 3 aApprenticeship Standard Qualification

  • Advanced Apprentices may progress onto the Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship if their job role allows
  • Career progression and employment opportunities will be enhanced upon completion of the Apprenticeship framework at any level
