We are looking for tech passionate individuals to want to start their career as an apprentice in the IT industry. You will be joining large business area working for our largest UK public sector client working with inspiring experts from which you can learn from and enjoy the career opportunities this brings. You will be joining a large community of Graduates and Apprentices across the business.

Alongside your degree programme you will be placed in one of the following two roles: 

As a SAP Technology Consultant (Functional), you will contribute to the delivery of technology projects and enhancements through the following areas:  

  • SAP Configuration: Gain hands-on experience in configuring and customizing SAP modules to meet business requirements, ensuring efficient and effective system operations.  
  • User Experience: Create and maintain innovative UX solutions for Public Sector Clients, giving them the tools to interact with the SAP system.
  • User/Customer Support: Provide assistance and expertise to end-users by addressing their SAP-related inquiries and issues, offering timely solutions and training as required. 
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Participate in testing activities to ensure the reliability and functionality of SAP applications, assisting in troubleshooting and resolving issues.  

As a SAP Technology Consultant (Technical), you will contribute to the delivery of technology projects and enhancements through the following areas:  

  • Coding and Development: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code for software applications, following coding standards and best practices. 
  • Bug Fixing: Identify and troubleshoot software defects, providing timely fixes and improvements to enhance software reliability and performance. 
  • Testing: Participate in testing and quality assurance activities, including writing and executing test cases, to ensure the functionality, security, and performance of software applications. 
  • Problem Solving: Analyse complex technical issues, devise creative solutions, and work collaboratively to overcome development challenges.

The training you will be getting

You will be working towards a full-time job and studying towards a degree apprenticeship with Sheffield Hallam University on our flagship BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions to match the Digital and Technology Solutions Professional Apprenticeship standard. It’s a 3-year course in which you will have an initial 12-week bootcamp on campus at Sheffield Hallam University. You will then study part time using a blended approach to learning, encompassing both on campus days and online learning, whilst doing your full-time role. You will learn many industry standard technologies and cover modules such as programming fundamentals, systems analysis and design, database administration and software engineering concepts. The degree includes a final stage project in conjunction with Capgemini’s business.

Things to consider

These roles require BPSS and SC Security Clearance, you will be required to pass through SC Security Clearance if you are successful in this recruitment process, which is a condition of undertaking the role.
