This is an exciting opportunity to join the Council’s Workforce Development team, who are responsible for staff training and development. We are looking for someone who would like to develop and gain experience as an apprentice. You will assist people attending training events and working on various IT systems, managing bookings and e-learning.

What you will do in your working day

  • Using the Learning Pool IT system to manage training courses, helping people with any problems with their accounts and producing registers and other information for trainers. 
  • Supporting the inductions for new starters. 
  • Helping trainers with tasks such as producing learning material and booklets, writing up notes from meetings, setting up events and updating slides.  
  • Arranging room bookings and ensuring the rooms and equipment are set up when required. 
  • The opportunity to work in other departments across the council in order to gain experience. 
  • Managing the Workforce Development inbox, dealing with enquires and queries. Taking responsibility for good customer service.   
  • Working with colleagues to offer administrative support around apprenticeships. 
  • Supporting the Workforce Development team to gain good knowledge of the area.  
  • Sending out electronic forms and collecting information for our reports. 
  • Uploading information and data. 
  • To work positively and inclusively with colleagues and customers so that the Council provides a workplace to deliver a service that does not discriminate against protected characteristics. 
  • To fulfil personal requirements, where appropriate, with regards to Council policies and procedures, standards of attendance, health, safety and welfare, customer care, emergency, evacuation, security and promotion of the Council’s priorities.
