What you will do in your working day
Your key roles and responsibilities will include:
- Liaise with other DSV / Agent's offices in the UK and abroad, reporting any discrepancies or specific requirements
- Ensure legislative compliance in all areas
- Ensure that the company operates within all agreed operational procedures, and within statutory requirements including the provision and maintenance of a safe working environment
- Prepare correct documentation to the Warehouse / Haulage / Distribution / Shipping department for loading / off-loading cargo to vehicles, in a timely manner
- In conjunction with others, work collaboratively with planners for collection or deliveries to meet the customers or their customers' needs or requirements to the best effective use of all resources, in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintain awareness of and follow transport (and H.M. Customs) regulations, where relevant, to conform to all statutory requirements
The training you will be getting
- Grimsby Institute will deliver this apprenticeship in the workplace. You will have a dedicated assessor who will provide guidance and monitor progress throughout. You will have access to an online portfolio to allow you to monitor your progress and log work completed
- Level 2 Apprenticeship in Customer Service Practitioner standard
Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT (unless exempt)
