What you will do in your working day
Job Responsibilities:
Administration:
- To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures
- To work in accordance of written protocols
- Fax and photocopy as requested
- Open and direct incoming mail, frank and post outgoing letters as appropriate
Reception:
- Receive and direct patients consulting with members of Practice team
- Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.
- Be able to cover all reception position as necessary
Appointments:
- Process appointment requests for appointments from patients by telephone and in person for any member of the Practice team
- Deal with visits requests
Computer:
- Process repeat prescription request in accordance with Practice guidelines
- Scan letters onto patient records
Telephone Duties
- Have working knowledge of telephone system, during and after hours.
- Answer telephone as Practice protocol
- Process requests for acute prescriptions as Practice protocol
Other Tasks:
- Clear and tidy rooms after surgeries
- Ensure building security – have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm
- Any other tasks allocated by manager
- Liaise with District Nurses, Hospitals, Health Visitors etc as required
