What you will do in your working day

If so it is likely that you have used project management skills. Every industry employs project managers or uses project management skills.
 
Apprentices will also have the opportunity at undertake a number of Lockheed Martin Programme Management and business training courses which will complement their external training. 

Programme Management (PM) is at the forefront of what we in Lockheed Martin on a day-to-day basis, and the PM team are ultimately accountable for delivery against all of our UK commitments.

The PM apprentice will have a unique opportunity to join the UK Maritime Team and gain a wealth of experience and knowledge from one of our busiest and most diverse portfolios of Programmes in the UK.

The Project Management Apprentice will be responsible for Project Tasks as assigned by their Project Management Office (PMO) Manager for the EMEA region

The Project Management Apprentice will report and be under the general direction of the PMO manager for the EMEA region.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Be involved in all aspects of the Project Management process, methods and techniques to initiate and execute projects to meet strategic objectives
  • Support the PMO team and customers during project proposal phases and capture
  • Support the PMO team in preparing the Project Charter, Project Execution plan and Monitoring progress
  • Be involved in project governance structure including; communications, reporting, meetings structure
  • Support the PMO team with the day-to-day project delivery against the requirements to a range of customers
  • Using the Project Management tool maintain, update and report on key project data and work the PMO team by identifying any potential issues as the project progresses

The candidate will be assisted by experienced personnel throughout their apprenticeship, helping them understand the various IT systems we maintain and ensure learning to be proficient project manager who can work on any projects within our organisation.

The onsite learning will see the Apprentice embedded into various projects at LMUK Ampthill where, with guidance from Subject Matter Experts, they will develop skills and gain experience to provide evidence of their knowledge and learning. 

Apprentices will be exposed to all disciplines of Project Management, giving them the best possible start to a career in Project Management.

The training you will be getting

  • The Apprentice will be working towards gaining the Project Management Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard
  • This role will support the achievement of this Apprenticeship along with the training provided by the chosen Training Provider
