What you will do in your working day

  • To deliver high standard of learning development and care for children aged between 0 and 5 years old.

  • To ensure that the childminding setting is a safe, caring, stimulating and educational environment both indoors and outdoors at all the times.

  • To complete all academic aspects of the apprenticeship.

  • To deliver EYFS curriculum that enables children to make individual progress.

  • To understand and work towards policies and procedures.

  • To plan activities and ensure records are properly maintained.

  • To be able to work in a partnership with parents and other staff or professionals.

  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed.

  • To maintain the environment indoor / outdoor safe and clean.

The training you will be getting

L2 Early Years Apprenticeship.

You will be supported by an Apprentice Trainer at City of Bristol College to achieve the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship. Alongside the trainer, you will build a portfolio of knowledge, skills and behaviours ready to undertake the end point assessment at the end of the apprenticeship. You will be required to achieve an Early Years Practitioner Level 2 qualification at the end of the course.

This apprenticeship is supported within the work place, and so you will spend at least 20% of your time in off the job training. This could include your own research and self-study, work shadowing, and company training. There may be some time required in college for any exams.

Things to consider

Clear DBS. Will be required undertake Paediatric First Aid training, Safeguarding and Child protection training. You won't be able to use any electronic devices of your own while at work only at break time.
