As our Apprentice Butcher, we will help you learn all about the butchery sector. This is a chance to be hands on from day one, learning whole carcass butchery and gain a variety of skills related to meats, knife skills and food production, while providing high-quality produce and services to our customers.

What you will do in your working day
You will be working with our experienced butchery team learning the following:
- Assisting with cutting, grinding and preparation of meats for sale
- Cleaning and assisting with the maintenance of tools and equipment
- Ensuring displays and signage are accurate and attractive
- Weighing, packaging, pricing and displaying products
- Keeping records, budgets and inventory
- Adhering to food safety and sanitation controls
- Greeting and speaking to customers, answering questions and accepting orders or payments

- Butcher Standards Level 2 Qualification
- FDQ Level 2 Award in Food Safety
- FDQ Level 2 Award in Health and Safety
- FDQ Level 2 Award in Knife Skills
- Level 1/2 Functional skills in English and maths if required
- How training will be delivered is to be confirmed
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
Upon successful completion, a permanent position in our on-farm butchers would be available. Subject to satisfactory agreement between all parties.
