What will the apprentice be doing?

You will contribute towards the provision of an effective support service on a day to day basis under the close supervision your line manager through the training, knowledge and skills development acquired throughout the period of employment.

Your duties could include:

  • Responding to internal and external queries when appropriate, providing information, advice guided by legislation
  • Arranging meetings, booking accommodation etc. within departmental guidelines
  • Producing standard and individual letters, documents, presentations and reports.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will be working towards a level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship and will also receive:

  • High quality training and development opportunities   
  • Personalised support from managers and mentors
  • The opportunity to work alongside skilled and experienced staff gaining valuable job specific and transferable skills that will support you in your future career
  • Functional Skills in English and maths if required

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

There may be opportunity to apply for a role within the Council, but this is not guaranteed.
