What will the apprentice be doing?

To be part of a head-office based Parts Team, dealing with incoming sales and support calls from UK customers operating Dennis Eagle vehicles. You would be required to provide technical support identifying parts fitted to Dennis Eagle commercial RCVs. This role also involves sale of parts to end users via telephone. All necessary product training will be provided, covering basic mechanical, hydraulics and electrical parts knowledge.

At the end of the apprenticeship, you will have advanced product knowledge of vehicle parts and using this knowledge to advise vehicle operators on all aspects of parts fitted to our vehicle.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Office based role
  • Deal with enquiries, internal and external over the phone, email and ecommerce website
  • Enquires will relate to invoicing, returns, pricing and parts identification
  • Liaising with our 3PL supply chain partner and transport provider obtaining delivery updates for customers
  • Work with various business systems to identify parts fitted to vehicle
  • Liaise with other departments within the company who can assist with identifying parts
  • Dealing with Product change notices relating to Parts and updating business systems

Knowledge • Interested in commercial HGV vehicles or cars. • Basic Understanding of how motor/commercial vehicles work (including engine, axles & cab parts). • Able to recognise images of parts & know the description & where they are fitted. • Understanding who customers are. • Understanding the organisation. Job-related skills & abilities • A desire to learn vehicle related technical topics. • Phone Etiquette (Body Language, tone of voice, word choice & closing a call). • Ability to deal with customer complaints & challenging customer in a professional manner. • Self-development – Desire to learn about Dennis Eagle vehicle range. • Listening & capturing customers’ requirements on the telephone. • Commercially minded individual, who can sell parts over the telephone. • Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity.
