We are currently looking to recruit new apprentices at our Early Years Nurseries, based in Cambridge, Ely and Papworth Evered. What you will do in your working day
Tasks and Training details:
Describe what an average day or week will be like and what tasks the apprentice could be doing.
- With close mentoring support, the apprentice will be part of a team to ensure that the physical, emotional, social and intellectual education and care provided to children in your charge is of the highest standard working to the Early Years Foundation Stage
- To ensure the smooth and efficient running of the nursery in which you work
- To work closely as a team with all other staff at Clarence House Day Nurseries Ltd to enable the whole setting to deliver a high-quality curriculum and to ensure a warm, friendly and caring ethos
- To liaise with parents, carers, and other childcare professionals providing information as appropriate under the guidance of the Nursery Manager
- To provide information about the nursery service for new parents in meetings at the nursery or visiting them at home
- To safeguard children
The training you will be getting
You will achieve an Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship level 2 via first-hand experience, knowledge of working in an early years setting, putting into place the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) into practice, adhering to policies and procedures.
The apprentice would be assigned an assessor through the college, who would typically come out to visit in the workplace to assess workplace Eary Years skills competence.
Level 2 Early Years Practitioner, including Paediatric First Aid award as part of Apprenticeship and English & Maths, if required.
The knowledge side would be provided via an online portal VLE (Virtual Learning Environment), and assignments/ evidence of work/ portfolio would be checked via an online Smart Assessor.
You will be working in the nursery 4 days a week with 1 day a week at Cambridge Regional College.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
This apprenticeship could lead to a permanent full time nursery nurse role.
