An Early Years Apprentice (Level 3) is required to demonstrate the companies’ vision and values. You will be working to the highest standards within the frameworks of the Children Act, the Early Years Foundation Stage, the nursery’s policies, procedures and current legislation relating to childcare. Duties include: preparing and maintaining appropriate children’s planning, observations, next steps, care plans, learning journeys and tracking documents.

What will the apprentice be doing?

Main duties and responsibilities:

· To promote children’s rights, equality, inclusion and anti-discriminatory practice in all aspects of the setting.

· To ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development.

· Following the settings systems, to prepare and maintain appropriate children’s planning, observations, next steps, care plans, learning journeys and tracking documents.

· To set up the environment in a way that is influenced by effective planning to support the needs of individual’s key children and that is responsive to the needs of every child within the room.

· To implement daily routines to ensure that the individual needs of every child is met. 

· To work in partnership with parents / carers and other family members, providing formal and informal opportunities through which information about children’s well-being, development and learning can be shared to improve outcomes.

· To foresee the needs of children with additional needs and give physical, emotional, intellectual guidance as appropriate working alongside parents to give full integration in the nursery.

·To promote positive behaviour, self-control and independence using the settings effective emotion coaching strategies and developing children’s social, emotional and behavioural skills.

· To work in partnership with other early years professionals and outside agencies if necessary.

· To be aware of the high profile of the nursery and to uphold its standards.

· To be an ambassador for the nursery both within the nursery and in the wider community.

·To respect and maintain complete confidentiality regarding any information on the children, their families, other staff and the nursery that is acquired as part of the job.

Nursery Educators at KTB Kids will share the responsibility to: 

·Work as part of a whole team to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, develop and learn, using initiative, sharing information and being flexible whenever necessary. 

· Prepare & serve food, milk, drink and snacks to children, encouraging good nutrition & sociable eating following the settings nutritional policy.

· Support children with their personal care, including changing nappies, assisting with potty training and other associated welfare duties.

· Take responsibility for regular risk assessment of both the environment and own working practice to maintain safety of self and others.

·Ensure good standards of hygiene and cleanliness are always maintained throughout the nursery.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will work towards completing a Level 3 Early Years Educator.
All training will be delivered remotely by LMP Education, the employer will give you time out of your working week to focus on your qualification.
