What will the apprentice be doing?

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Undertake reception duties, answering routine telephone calls and face to face enquiries.
  • Signing in visitors and conforming with safeguarding procedures.
  • Assist with pupil welfare e.g. contact parents if a child is sick, liasing with parents/staff.
  • Carry out photocopying, filing, faxing, emailing, complete routine forms.
  • Update and maintain manual and computerised records/ management information systems (Bromcom).
  • Processing of orders on school finance portal, tracking order status, checking delivery notes.
  • Check invoices with purchase orders to verify accuracy.
  • Ensure safekeeping of monies received, issue receipts and bank accordingly.
  • To manage trips and payments via Parentpay and chase outstanding payments.
  • Record and maintain attendance data, check and update registers and telephone calls to follow up absences when necessary.
  • Manage new and existing lettings in line with the Mac lettings policy.
  • Book CPD as appropriate.
  • Ensuring statutory service checks are booked in and recorded correctly in line with Health & Safety compliance calendar.
  • Maintain an agreed maintenance plan.
  • Undertake typing, word processing and other IT based tasks.
  • Sort and distribute mail; prepare outgoing mail.
  • Provide administrative and organisational support e.g. administration of school clubs.
  • Any other duties requested by the Head teacher or the Office Manager.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good working with numbers including analysing data.
  • Organisational skills.
  • IT literate, including Microsoft Office packages e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Training for this qualification will be provided by ourselves at SCCU Group, an Ofsted good training provider. Our tuition is all delivered in the workplace and bespoke to your particular role.

  • HR Support Level 3 Standard, 18 months practical with an additional 3 months End Point Assessment period.
  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT (if required).

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

This would be dependent on Multi-Academy requirements at the end of the apprenticeship.
