  • Annual wage

    £11,830.00

    Starting wage will be £6.50 per hour. After 3 months wage will increase to £7.00 per hour. After 6 months wage will increase to £7.50 per hour. After 9 months wage will increase to £8.00 per hour. NMW after 12 months.

  • Working week

    Mon-Fri. Shift patterns of 8am-5pm and 9am-6pm. 1 hour for lunch. Possible evening shift to be introduced after 6 months, but this to be discussed and agreed beforehand and at this stage is only a consideration.

What will the apprentice be doing?

• Supporting the Operations team with all aspects of Customer Service.
• Responding to inbound enquiries from Customers receiving good, clients supplying goods and drivers delivering goods.
• Using the company CRM system to log notes and update delivery instructions.
• Notifying customers regarding changes to delivery times and schedule.
• Liaising with drivers and other colleagues to ensure successful deliveries are made.
• Communicating with colleagues and customers to ensure a high-quality customer experience is delivered.
• Follow track and trace system which includes monitoring whether or not drivers are working to the arrange delivery schedule and route.
• Calling ahead to advise on changes/adjustments to delivery times.
• Investigating customer queries and claims.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship standard, including Functional Skills if required.

This is a work based programme which means that all of your learning will take place on the site of your employment and within your contracted working hours. We host supporting workshops regularly throughout the apprenticeship which you can attend in person at our Derby Road campus or virtually via Microsoft Teams.

You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession.

You will experience a blended learning model.

You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio.

At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Potential of full-time employment, upon successful completion of apprenticeship.

On completion of 12 months wage will increase to NMW. If the candidates are aged between 18 – 21 then RPH will increase to £9.00 per hour and will carry on increasing every 3 months until completion of the apprenticeship with a view to an offer of a permanent full time position and a further appropriate RPH increase for the position offered accordingly i.e. customer services assistant.(CSA)
