What will the apprentice be doing?
- Room Lead
- Acting as designated key person for an allocated number of children.
- Ensure all company policies and procedures are correctly followed in the nursery and adhered to at all times.
- To assist in improving and maintaining the high standards in the nursery by leading from the front at all times.
- Developing positive partnership with parents.
- Leading, developing and managing your room staff to ensure the best outcomes for children.
- Responsible for the nursery in the absence of the manager
- To assist with the planning and organisation of staffing schedules and holiday rotas to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained in accordance with Ofsted and nursery procedures.
- All aspects of the daily running of the nursery
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Throughout the first seven months of the programme, the focus will be on building a strong foundation in key areas such as safeguarding, health and safety, communication, and promoting the health and well-being of children. The practitioner will also learn about attachment, transitions, and physical care. During months eight to thirteen, the focus shifts towards developing leadership skills and understanding child development, pedagogy, curriculum, and play-based learning. In months fourteen to twenty-four, the practitioner will learn about creating an inclusive environment, working in partnership with other professionals, and further developing their reflection skills. This period also includes a review and finalization of a mock case study, as well as undertaking the Gateway and End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete the programme.
