What will the apprentice be doing?
Pension administrators play a critical role in administering the day-to-day operations of the pension fund. The selected candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks supporting more senior administrators.
On a day-to-day basis a pensions administrator will be involved in:
- Producing pensions quotations
- Setting up benefits for the pension fund members, this will include retirement, death, and leaving service before retirement
Other activities will include:
- Administering transfers of benefits to other funds
There will also be learning about pension legislation, and scheme rules and regulations, as well as using new technologies and systems to administer the members benefits. Pension legislation is always changing and therefore learning never stops.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will achieve Pensions Level 3 Apprenticeship Qualification.
A 100% tailored training and assessment program will be delivered to support you throughout your apprenticeship, (18-months including End Point Assessment) topics covered include:

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, the role will move to a full-time permanent role within the Pension Administration Team.
A Pension apprenticeshipis very new to the Nottinghamshire Pension Fund, and it is seen that this will be stepping stone for individuals to grow and develop to be the leaders of the future, but also there are opportunities to grow and progress across all 86 Pension funds nationally.
