What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Assist with the distribution of incoming post
  • Ensure outgoing post is franked and ready for collection
  • Prepare new starter packs and appropriate paperwork
  • Ensuring that all new starters have a contract of employment and have completed all relevant forms
  • Assist with updating personal files ensuring they contain accurate and valid information
  • Photocopy/bind documents when required
  • Take incoming phone calls and transfer to appropriate member of staff
  • Liaise with Operational Managers regarding vacancies, assist in production and distribution of internal vacancy notices
  • Update and maintain the personnel database
  • Monitor and take responsibility for updating the staff notice boards
  • Attend appropriate meetings
  • Take meeting notes, produce minutes and distribute as required
  • Ensure confidential data is disposed off appropriately
  • Ensure that new employees are issued with a handbook/job description/performance standards
  • Ensure that all new employees are aware of the appraisal system
  • Liaise with Operational Managers and Business Support to arrange relevant training
  • Undertake any other duties that are commensurate with the role

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The successful candidate will study a Business Administrator Level 3 Standard. This will be aided by an assessor who will carry out all assessments as work-based learning within the workplace. If required Functional Skills maths and English will be supported by the tutor.
