*Wages:* £157.50 per week, based on a 30 hour week. Any overtime above the 40 hours pw, will be paid at the appropriate NMW depending on age. 28 days holiday entitlement pro rata (incl. bank holidays).

You will be working 30 hours per week, Monday 10am-6pm, Tuesday 10am-6pm, Thursday 10am-7pm, Friday 10am-7pm and Saturday 10am-6pm (Salon is closed Wednesday). Days and shifts tbc. Late night training sessions to be arranged with the employer once a week.

What will the apprentice be doing?
*Duties and Responsibilities*:
- Assist senior hairdressers in providing a range of hair services to clients, including cutting, styling, colouring, and treatments
- Greet and welcome clients, ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere
- Shampoo and condition clients' hair, preparing them for styling or treatments
- Maintain a clean and organised salon environment, including sanitising tools and workstations
- Support in mixing and applying hair colour, highlights, and other chemical treatments under supervision
- Learn and apply various hairdressing techniques, including blow-drying, curling, and straightening hair
- Provide excellent customer service by actively listening to clients' needs and preferences
- Assist in recommending suitable hairstyles and products based on clients' hair type and desired look
- Keep up-to-date with the latest hair trends, styles, and techniques through ongoing training and education
- Develop skills in basic salon administration tasks, such as scheduling appointments and handling cash transactions
- Follow salon policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines
- Uphold a professional appearance and behaviour at all times, representing the salon in a positive manner
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supporting a harmonious and productive salon environment
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will complete your apprenticeship in a salon under the guidance of trained hair professionals. You will also be required to attend arranged college sessions to cover additional practical training alongside structured theory sessions to enable you to cover the Level 2 Hair Professional Standard requirements.
Functional skills in maths and English (if required).
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Once you have completed the level 2 qualification, you will have the opportunity to work towards either a level 2 in barbering or an advanced level 3 in hairdressing.
