What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Complete Paediatric 12 hours First Aid certificate. 
  • To plan, organise, supervise, and carry out suitable activities and educational programmes for children, using the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
  • To maintain a safe and secure and hygienic environment for children. 
  • To support the staff team with children’s developmental records within a key worker system. 
  • To attend staff meetings, planning meetings and assist with fund raising and any other duties the manager deems necessary. 
  • To keep abreast of current issues and attend training as necessary. 
  • To supervise children at mealtimes. 
  • To work within a team and maintain good communication. 
  • To follow nursery policies and procedures and comply with Local Authority Regulations. 
  • Follow the EYFS Statutory Framework. 
  • To adhere to the nursery uniform policy ensuring that a professional image is maintained at all times. 
  • To maintain the nursery environment, carrying out delegated tasks as may be deemed necessary for the efficient running of the nursery and ensuring a safe, secure, and hygienic environment always. 
  • To ensure good time keeping, smart appearance, good personal hygiene, and good work practises. 
  • To maintain good relationships with parents / carers on all matters relating to the nursery. 
  • To ensure the nursery building is always secure and safe for the children. 
  • To work within the hours the nursery operates as deemed necessary to ensure adequate staff to children’s ratios are maintained. 
  •  To always respect confidentiality regarding the Nursery. 
  • To work positively within the team structure and be included in staff duty rotas. 
  • To build positive relationships with the children.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Upon completion and achievement of the Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprenticeship, there is a full-time post followed by progression for the right candidate!
