What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Follow the Apprenticeship programme including attendance at study and learning sessions, on the job practical training and development opportunities
  • Sign and follow the learning contract with the training provider and adhere to the agreement
  • Learn and provide administration support to colleagues in all aspects of insurance, working with attention to detail
  • Develop and gain working knowledge about relevant insurance products
  • Work in an efficient and effective manner in accordance with Company procedures and processes
  • Work in various areas or departments to develop knowledge, experience and an all round understanding of the Company
  • Ensure accuracy, efficiency and professionalism when dealing with both client and insurer in all aspects of the role

Develop understanding of and undertaking the following tasks:

  • Renewals
  • Quotations
  • Mid Term Adjustments
  • Claims
  • Queries
  • Premium financing arrangements
  • Cover note issuance
  • Policy documentation preparation and issuance
  • Achieve and maintain a high level of customer service and promote exceptional customer care standards at all times.
  • Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with all clients and ensure expert advice in all areas of business.
  • Ensure all business activity fully complies with FCA regulation and company procedures as detailed in the Conduct Polices and Guides to Best Practice
  • Handle any complaints in accordance with regulation, the Company’s Conduct Policy and Guide to Best Practice

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Insurance Practitioner Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

  • Fully and part funded learning and development programme that includes the Cert CII
  • Develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours of successful Insurance Practitioners

Role-specific route ways tailor the apprenticeship to the job role:

  • Claims Handler/Loss Adjuster
  • Assistant Underwriter
  • Junior Broker
