    Monday to Thursday - Flexitime 7.75 hours between core hours of 8:00am and 5:45pm with a minimum half hour lunch between 12:00 and 1:00pm. Fridays - Flexitime 4 hours between minimum core hours of 8:00am and 1:30pm.

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Support for order entry for the medical, pump, print and converting areas of the MGE business
  • Support monitoring the overall end to end customer order process and ensuring that orders are correctly sent out as per customer requirements
  • Support for the arrangement of transportation of orders from MGE to the relevant customers
  • Support with the production of required shipping and transport documentation
  • Support for the preparation of quotations and responses to customer enquiries using the appropriate communication methods
  • Support the contact of current customers to ensure the correct supply of orders and confirm customer satisfaction post sales
  • Support the regular and organised contact with current distributors to inform on current pricing, product suitability, new products and other commercial aspects
  • Provide office support to the office team under guidance of the customer service supervisor
  • Link with accounts to assist with resolving invoice discrepancies and customer payment issues when required
  • Link to engineering and production teams to assist customers with technical support when required
  • Link with production team to check availability of products and services for customers when required
  • Link with quality and service team to obtain servicing and product quality issue updates for feedback to the customer when required
  • Carry out other duties as may reasonably be required to cover for sickness, holidays, or other similar circumstances
  • Use computer systems including Microsoft Office programs and MAPICS ERP programs to produce relevant documentation
  • Use professional language and terminology when producing correspondence & documents
  • Work within defined working procedures - specifically to ISO9001 & ISO13485 Quality Management Systems
  • Communicating well with customers and suppliers by email, phone or face-to-face

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • The apprentice will be working towards the Business Administrator Level 3 apprenticeship standard
  • All delivered within the workplace via online training and at Colchester Institute Campus

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Development within business, undertaking internship style training throughout entire office environment, development within individual departments.

Chosen route for progression through business leading to more senior position and career development either within commercial office or other departments.
