What will the apprentice be doing?
General duties:
- Provide copy invoices and statements - both automatic and manual Excel statements
- Create reminder letters
- Process write-offs
- Taking card payments either over the phone or re-direct them to one of our 24hr payment services
- Monitoring the Credit Management mailbox to respond or resolve any issues raised. This will include clients, legal advisers, members of the Credit Management team and other members of the Finance Directorate
- Maintain a small debtors ledger - liaising with partners and legal advisers as well as clients
- Producing debtors' reports - sending to legal advisers on a weekly basis
This list is not exhaustive, and duties include various other tasks as directed by the Lead Credit Controller.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 2 Accounts or Finance Assistant apprenticeship standard, which includes:
- Level 1 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
One of the benefits of working for a wider Finance team is that opportunities in other departments such as Financial Accounting, Finance Administration, Financial Planning & Analysis and Legal Cashiering are made available to internal staff on a regular basis. Alternatively, you could climb the Credit Management ladder and take on roles such as Lead Credit Controller.
