We are looking for a pro-active individual who is conscientious and attentive and committed to completing the Signage Technician Apprenticeship. We are looking for a committed, hardworking individual to join our prep and fitting teams to prepare and apply graphics and vehicle wrap vinyls to vehicles both in house and on site.

Working week
The delivery method for this employer-led apprenticeship consists of 32 hours a week within the workplace and one 8-hour training day a week within Hull Training. Working hours are 8:30am to 4.30pm Monday-Thursday, 8:00am to 4.00pm on a Friday.

What will the apprentice be doing?
- Application of graphics &/or vehicle wrap vinyl to vehicles in house & on-site
- General sign installation & vinyl fitting to a variety of surfaces in-house & on-site
- Heat vinyl to the correct temperature with specialist supplied equipment, when required
- Apply & demonstrate appropriate cleaning techniques, when required
- Removal of vehicle parts, when required
- Good house-keeping skills; this includes, clearing up the workshop/jobsite after the preparation & application of any job
- Using the plotters to cut vinyl when required
- Weeding & backing the vinyl once it has been cut
- Using a laminator to over-laminate digital prints when required
- Sending digital prints through large format printers when required
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Signage Technician Standard Level 3
- Functionals Skills maths & English Level 2 if required
Candidates will study on a day release basis at Hull Training Engineering Centre.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The successful candidate will be given the opportunity of full-time employment upon completion of the advanced apprenticeship if available.
