What will the apprentice be doing?
Working with a range of clients on a variety of tasks, no two days are never the same. The kind of work you would get involved with include:
- Liaising with clients to ensure their deadlines are met and information provided on a timely basis
- Taking phone calls and assisting with general administration
- Processing accounts information such as sales invoices, purchase invoices and bank statements to produce client accounts and VAT information
- Data entry for the purpose of accounts and tax returns
- Using HMRC information to assist with general queries
- Assisting with adhoc duties as appropriate
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Formal training is delivered at HWGTA, located in Hereford (HR4 9SX) or Worcester (WR4 9GN) depending on your location.
You will receive training one day per week which is a combination of face-to-face and remote, as per your assigned training plan.
Additional training for functional skills in English and Maths will be undertaken if needed.
You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. They will also prepare you for your End Point Assessment to gain your Accounts/Finance Assistant Level 2 qualification.
There is also a five-day teambuilding residential trip that is held in the spring of each year offered to all apprentices on programme.
