What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Through this role you will build a range of knowledge and skills, associated to Local Authority delivery of regulatory services and compliance activities
  • Learning and building knowledge while working alongside, experienced Trading Standards professionals, and associated regulatory enforcement officers
  • The service will also support you to complete the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education’s level 4 regulatory compliance officer apprenticeship

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The level 4 Regulatory Compliance Officer Apprenticeship provides an access route to further Trading Standards professional qualifications, as well as other professional regulatory roles.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

This is an 18 month contract, so no definite career progressions within the Borough, the RCO apprentice does provide a pathway to a number of professional qualifications which I believe include Trading Standards, Environmental Health and licensing?
