What will the apprentice be doing?
The role will support the Customer Experience Manager and the Customer Care team in the delivery of the day-to-day customer service.
You will support on sales administration, process customer complaints, take responsibility for the maintenance of our customer relationship management tools and be actively involved in customer communications, including social media engagement.
As you develop experience, your role will broaden to include customer service ownership of several accounts.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Support the Customer Experience Manager with continuous improvements activities in the customer proposition
- Produce operating procedures in line with customer service guidelines
- Maintain British Sugar’s service level agreements and review against the customer proposition
- Active involvement in customer relationship management
- Produce customer Key Performance Indicators
- Attend customer visits to build relationships and support the Commercial and Supply Chain functions
- Account management for a small set of customers to develop advanced customer service skills and to understand different needs and priorities of British Sugar customers
- Manage administration, reports and customer queries for the department whilst actively reviewing improvement opportunities
- Producing and running reports for Customer Experience Manager and Customer Care Manager
- Be actively involved in the delivery of customer service projects
- Order processing
- Active involvement in unlocking business opportunities through social media engagement
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will follow the Level 3 Customer Services Specialist
Apprenticeship Standard and the Scheme is a minimum of 18 months of on-programme learning plus an End Point Assessment period of 3 months.
You will attend Peterborough College one day per month and work at our Peterborough offices in Samson Place, London Road, Peterborough. Your learning, development and continuous assessment will be managed by your Line Manager with the support of the training provider, Peterborough College.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will achieve a Level 3 Customer Service Specialist Qualification.

Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship there may be further apprenticeship opportunities or a permanent role within the business.
