What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Answer telephone, screen and direct calls
  • Take and relay messages
  • Provide information to callers
  • Greet persons entering the organisation
  • Direct persons to the correct destination
  • Deal with queries from customers and the public
  • Ensures knowledge of staff movements in and out of organisation.
  • General administrative and clerical support.
  • Prepare letters and documents.
  • Receiving and sorting mail and deliveries.
  • Scheduling appointments.
  • Maintaining the appointment diary either manually or electronically.
  • Organizing meetings.
  • Tidying and maintaining the reception area
  • To provide Records Management Systems support, guidance and training to team members and Budget Holders, where applicable.
  • To understand the need for the development and retention of IT and paper based records to support the Audit trail for public funds.
  • To input to the development of local systems for the purpose of meeting LiEA and external Audit requirements.
  • To understand the context of the Freedom of Information, State Aid and Data Protection Act and the implications of these requirements.
