What will the apprentice be doing?

The ideal candidate will be looking to develop a career in administration and to work within a company that specialises in the provision of occupational therapy services to both the public and private sectors.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Screening calls and taking detailed accurate messages where necessary
  • Making appointments, travel arrangements and updating multiple diaries for upper management and sub-contractors
  • Dealing with correspondence (e-mail, letters etc) scanning documents
  • Create and update records and databases with personnel, financial and other data
  • Liaising with OT associate staff and with external contacts
  • Track stocks of office supplies and place orders when necessary
  • Manage company blog postings and social media accounts
  • Coordinate office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies
  • To work across the admin team supporting colleagues whenever necessary

We are looking for the successful candidate to: 

  • Have a professional telephone manner, while being able to convey empathy and sensitivity towards clients
  • Ability to prioritise and manage tasks in line with the needs of the business
  • Be polite and patient at all times demonstrating excellent communication and listening skills
  • An understanding of the importance of working as part of a team, whilst also possessing and ability to use own initiative
  • IT literate with strong knowledge of Word and Excel, experience of accounting and case management software would be beneficial but is not essential

  • Functional skills in maths and English if required
  • 5 Additional day courses with HOET

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • It is hoped you will be offered a full time position on successful completion of the apprenticeship programme
