What will the apprentice be doing?

Assist in the day-to-day running of the business support team – answer telephone calls, deal with general enquiries from both external and internal customers.

Support the sales team with administration for our customers, including but not limited to – preparation of business reviews, proposals and presentations.

Resolution of customer queries where possible.

Assist with the identification and qualification of bid and tender opportunities, supporting the completion as and when required.

In addition, you may also be involved in smaller projects as determined by the Business Support Manager.

Full description of tasks can be seen below:

  • To create and distribute customer welcome packs
  • Generation and distribution of customer visit packs
  • Allocation of web leads as appropriate
  • Support the sales team with administration for our customers, including but not limited to – preparation of business reviews, proposals and presentations
  • Create, collate and prepare strategic and regional customers' sales proposals and ensure that these are completed and provided to the customer in a professional and timely manner
  • Assist in the day-to-day running of the business support team – answer telephone calls, deal with general enquiries from both external and internal customers
  • Resolution of customer queries where possible.
  • Keep the sales and marketing contact list up to date
  • Ensure that the sales team are providing and maintaining correct customer information within CRM
  • Support the sales team with CRM enquiries and support either through phone calls, face to face or Teams video sessions
  • Assist with the cleansing of internal system data, in particular CRM, as and when required
  • Assist with the identification and qualification of bid and tender opportunities in the UK public & private sectors via procurement portals
  • Completion of bids and tenders expressions of interest and pre-qualification questionnaires
  • Support the completion of invitations to bid and tender
  • Support the completion of supplier appraisal questionnaires for existing and potential customers
  • Assist with the administration of the public sector mailbox in Outlook
  • Registration and on-going accreditation of portals and external supplier assessment companies
  • To assist members of the Business Support Team with ad hoc requests, as and when required

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

As part of this programme you will complete the level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship standard.
