What will the apprentice be doing?
Waveney Valley IFAs is a firm of independent financial advisers and wealth managers based in Harleston, on the Norfolk and Suffolk border. Working in a small but experienced team from town centre offices, we are looking to recruit an apprentice who would wish to enter the exciting world of financial services.
You will be trained on all aspects of the business. As you go through your training schedule, we will identify which areas are of most interest and concentrate on those. We are a relatively small team encompassing around 7 members of staff.
If you live in this part of East Anglia, have a good command of the English Language, a great grasp of mathematics and good IT skills you may be the person we are looking for.
You will receive full training to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to complete the following duties:
- Financial services administration, providing full financial services administration support to our team of financial advisers - the role is integral to the organisation as it helps to facilitate the smooth running of managing clients' financial situations
- To learn and understand financial services regulations and ethics, completing CII R01 in support of this
- Use a range of bespoke systems and ensuring compliance is met
- Prepare packs for adviser meetings
- Checking suitability reports for content and accuracy
- Checking underlying research for the same
- Packaging suitability reports for presentation to clients
- Maintaining adviser diary
- Provide support to paraplanner and adviser
- Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and correctly
- Update the Back-Office system
- Issuing documentation to clients
- Meeting and greeting customers
- Ongoing maintenance and service of existing client base
- Processing new pension and investment business
- Investment and pension reports for new business and reviews

- CII R01 - Financial Services Regulations and Ethics
Functional Skills in English and maths, if required:
- No functional skills to be completed if you have obtained a GCSE C (4) and above or equivalent qualifications
- Functional Skills Level 2 will be completed, if you have obtained a GCSE D or E grade (3 or 2), Functional Skills Level 1 or equivalent qualifications
- Functional Skills Level 1 will be completed, if you have not obtained any equivalent qualifications - upon completing level 1 Functional Skills you will progress onto level 2

This role gives the opportunity to progress to a full career in financial services, be it as an administrator, paraplanner or ultimately as a financial adviser in the future.
