What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Handle day-to-day queries effectively using interpersonal skills and communicating through various methods
  • Monitor and coordinate emails from the shared inbox
  • Assist with the new starter process for service users, including liaison with parents / carers / care co-ordinators
  • Inform the Accounts Officer in writing of fee rates approved for invoicing
  • Create files for the service user’s one page profile, care plan and risk assessment, and maintain all files to templated standard with ambitions to digitise completely
  • Ensure Initial Referral is completed and once onboard all Service User absences are recorded on absence forms
  • Assist with the review process for service users, including sending documents to Supervisors / Team Leaders to request / check information for review
  • Highlight in files evidence of concern forms / incident reports
  • Attend review meetings as requested by the Support Services Manager
  • Type up the review report and update the risk assessment, care plan and one page profile as necessary
  • Assist the Service Delivery Manager to provide weekly / monthly reports for the relevant LA, as per their instructions
  • Assist the SDM to provide information for internal management meetings
  • Provide information to the Admin Assistant and Accounts Officer, as required, to enable them to update registers for service users and their attendance
  • Report known transport service user issues to SDM including difficulties with fees
  • Assist transport requirements in absence of SDM for taxis and other means of transport when the minibus is off-road or the driver is absent

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration consisting of:

  • Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in Mathematics
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in English

You will be required to attend a half-day session with HBTC where you will work towards any functional skills that you have to take. Additional off the job training will also be required as part of the Apprenticeship. There will also be an end point assessment.

We provide work experience and social therapeutic horticulture for adults who live with the challenges of learning difficulties, Autism and physical disabilities at our 14 acre nursery and conservation site. Exposed to the benefits of the natural rural environment on which the nursery sits, the work with our services users enriches lives with improvements in their physical and social abilities. Over the last 25 years we have grown to supporting 100 adults weekly through our adult day service and commercial enterprise and we are still growing.
