    £19,474.00

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Maintain a clean, healthy and safe environment
  • Supervise and engage in play activities with the children, supporting and extending their learning and development
  • Supervising meal and snack times
  • Help with a high standard of personal care including, dressing, feeding and washing children
  • Participate in and plan small and whole group activities
  • To undertake and commit to training towards the achievement of a formal qualification with the Oldham College
  • Supervise outdoor play/learning
  • Encouraging positive behaviour
  • Take part in singing, role play and story telling
  • Communicate with parents about home routines, home learning, behaviour, development
  • Observe children and make notes to write reports
  • Devise stimulating activities appropriate to ages of the children and maintain children’s records
  • Attend training as necessary and carry out any other duties reasonably required by the nursery manager
  • Be responsible for own key group of children supporting their learning and development, planning next steps of learning and identifying any additional support that may be needed
  • Adhere to all nursery policies and procedures

Things to consider

You will be expected to be flexible with the working hours to ensure ratios are maintained. During the year you will be expected to participate in additional events out of the normal working hours, for example, parent’s evening and open days. There is a degree of lifting and carrying that you will need to be able to carry out. This nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
