What will the apprentice be doing?
- Maintain a clean, healthy and safe environment
- Supervise and engage in play activities with the children, supporting and extending their learning and development
- Supervising meal and snack times
- Help with a high standard of personal care including, dressing, feeding and washing children
- Participate in and plan small and whole group activities
- To undertake and commit to training towards the achievement of a formal qualification with the Oldham College
- Supervise outdoor play/learning
- Encouraging positive behaviour
- Take part in singing, role play and story telling
- Communicate with parents about home routines, home learning, behaviour, development
- Observe children and make notes to write reports
- Devise stimulating activities appropriate to ages of the children and maintain children’s records
- Attend training as necessary and carry out any other duties reasonably required by the nursery manager
- Be responsible for own key group of children supporting their learning and development, planning next steps of learning and identifying any additional support that may be needed
- Adhere to all nursery policies and procedures
