What will the apprentice be doing?

The Engineering Apprentice will:

  • Ensure that all college assignments are completed on time.
  • Assist the shift maintenance engineers with breakdowns, repairs and planned maintenance as instructed, documenting all supervised work for their portfolio.
  • Carry out projects as instructed and to the apprentice plan.
  • Carry out all works within their guidelines of competence and adhere to health and safety policy.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship is primarily delivered in the workplace with 1 extended day a week attendance at college for the first two years.

Level 3 Engineering Technician - Mechatronics Apprenticeship Standard; L2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence); L3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) Mechatronics Maintenance Technician.

It is intended that - providing you successfully complete your apprenticeship - you will continue your employment with us.

The job is in a location where transport will need to be considered. The nature of the job role dictates that you will be working in a workshop/factory environment. If you are selected to attend a second interview you will be asked to complete a work trial for one day.
