What will the apprentice be doing?

This is a fantastic opportunity for any individuals with no experience in healthcare to develop knowledge and skills on the path to a nursing career. You can earn while you learn and gain excellent experience in our clinical wards and departments.


Part of your role will be to support patients to;

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The post holder will receive a full and comprehensive induction program to prepare for their clinical work. Support and training will be provided to enable the post holder to develop their skills in the area. This will be through regular supervision and will attend study sessions and meet with an assessor from the apprenticeship provider to gain an apprenticeship qualification as a Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker.

The post is an 18 month fixed term contract on 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday) with time for formal study towards the apprenticeship framework and the candidate will be entitled to 27 days annual leave plus 8 statutory holidays. The individual will be supported to achieve their Care Certificate award.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Here at SWFT we have progressed many of our CSW’s into the Nursing Associate course which can then provide the pathway into Nursing. You can earn while you learn and gain excellent experience in our clinical wards and departments.

Things to consider

Evening, Weekend and Nights working From 1st April 2022 all NHS workers in England who have face to face contact with patients must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Only those with specified medical exemptions will be excluded from this requirement. Please consider this mandatory requirement when applying for this position.
