What will the apprentice be doing?

Customers are offered bespoke menus so Apprentices will learn a broad range of skills in order to meet customer needs and expectations.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Ensure compliance to procedures, menu specifications and recipes
  • Adapt and produce dishes to meet special dietary, religious and allergenic requirements
  • Follow, complete and maintain production schedules, legislative and quality standard documentation
  • Use specialist kitchen equipment
  • Communicate internally and externally with customers and colleagues

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • The Apprentice will work towards their Apprenticeship Standard in Production Chef Level 2
  • Training will take place in the workplace so there is no requirement for attendance at Lincoln College

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • Permanent employment is expected for successful candidates on completion of the Apprenticeship

Black Peppermint Food Company in an Event Catering company which was started by their Chef Director Adam. Adam started his career studying Hospitality Management and later working at the Iconic Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland amongst other famous eateries. A move back to his native East Midlands brought with it the opportunity to use his wealth of experience and launch a new venture in the event catering sector and showcase just what can be achieved! A dedicated team was assembled and, with a few sample tastings the bookings came rolling in.
