What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Design, fabricate & install new production equipment in sheet metal, paint & assembly.
  • To support new equipment installations.
  • To support new product introductions ensuring they have the equipment and processes to achieve the
    required output.
  • To carry out risk assessments on new processes, ensuring they are safe to be carried out.
  • To order materials and tools for jigs and fixtures needed for the above.
  • To work with production to improve the methods of material flow through the factory.
  • Identify continuous improvement activities and implement the actions.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • This is a full, 4-year Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship programme run in conjunction with City College Plymouth.
  • You will attend College once a week. 
  • This apprenticeship incorporates a Mechnical Engineering HNC within the studies
