What will the apprentice be doing?
Full training will be given.
The role involves:
- Pump repairs and assessment in the workshop
- Pump repairs on site
- Pumps and pump system installations
- Fault finding on pumping systems on site
- Electrical work involving pump motors, inverters and control panels
- Plumbing work involving pump installs and system fault finding
- Turning and milling parts for the pump repairs in the workshop
- Welding and use of machines and power tools for fabricating frames and refurbishments of existing equipment
- Attend college 1 day a week
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Qualifications included:
- Maintenance Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard. Company Training Plan & Assessment
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering - Development Knowledge (1 day per week for 2 years at college)
Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance (workplace) - Level 2 Functional Skills - maths (if required)
- Level 2 Functional Skills - English (if required)
- End Point Assessment at the end of the apprenticeship
