What will the apprentice be doing?
Initially starting in the warehouse to develop an understanding of how the business operates and becoming familiar with the stock and parts the role will involve:
- Checking and putting away supplier delivered parts according to procedures
- Checking for damaged stock
- Picking and loading van / carrier accurately for timely customer delivery
- Checking customer returns for resale, warranty or surcharge
- Checking stock quantities are correct against computer
- Checking stock is stored in the allocated bin locations
Once the apprentice becomes familiar with the business and stock the apprentice will then progress on to the sales aspect of the business, duties involve:
- Offering exemplary customer service through efficient and accurate parts look up
- Communicating with the customer from start of transaction to end
- Answering the phone efficiently, professionally and politely
- Phone out daily to connect with allocated customers
- Offering retail customers, a warm and friendly service
- Contributing to a positive “can do” environment
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship standard
- Apprentices will be required to have or achieve level 1 English and maths and to have taken level 2 English and maths tests prior to completion of their apprenticeship
- This apprenticeship programme is delivered with a blended learning approach and includes a mixture of onsite tutor visits and online tutor led sessions
- All delivery is completed in the workplace, and you will not need to attend any off-site training.
- Functional Skills in maths and English, if required.
