What will the apprentice be doing?

The lucky candidate will get to help the business with all aspects on their roles, including:

  • Work with the team to ready site for work
  • Planting and turfing
  • Hard landscaping
  • Tree Surgery
  • Ecological works
  • Vegetation management

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will be working towards a Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative Apprenticeship Standard.

You will receive on and off the job training and support from an assessor and an apprenticeship advisor.

You will be required to attend Bicton College on a block release basis as part of the apprenticeship training.

The following qualifications will be required prior to taking the end point assessment:

  • Emergency first aid: Level 3 award in emergency first aid at work
  • Pesticides: Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides Guidance OR Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • There will hopefully be a job at the end of the apprenticeship for the right candidate
