What will the apprentice be doing?

Parts Advisors are also known as vehicle parts operatives. They are responsible for ordering, selling and managing stock control on a wide range of vehicle parts and accessories. The duties of a Parts Advisor Apprentice will typically include:

  • Building relationships with internal and external customers
  • Taking orders from customers in person and over the phone
  • Maintaining the stock room
  • Ordering parts as needed
  • Identifying parts
  • Compiling, maintaining, and updating internal records
  • Processing payments for parts sold
  • Chase customers about orders
  • Taking messages and passing them to the correct person
  • Deal with queries in a quick and efficient manner
  • Assisting colleagues when needed
  • Working with technicians to ensure they have the correct parts to complete their work

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 2 Customer Service at Redcar & Cleveland College.
  • Functional skills maths & English, if required.
