What will the apprentice be doing?
Parts Advisors are also known as vehicle parts operatives. They are responsible for ordering, selling and managing stock control on a wide range of vehicle parts and accessories. The duties of a Parts Advisor Apprentice will typically include:
- Building relationships with internal and external customers
- Taking orders from customers in person and over the phone
- Maintaining the stock room
- Ordering parts as needed
- Identifying parts
- Compiling, maintaining, and updating internal records
- Processing payments for parts sold
- Chase customers about orders
- Taking messages and passing them to the correct person
- Deal with queries in a quick and efficient manner
- Assisting colleagues when needed
- Working with technicians to ensure they have the correct parts to complete their work
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 2 Customer Service at Redcar & Cleveland College.
- Functional skills maths & English, if required.
