What will the apprentice be doing?

  • To support HR colleagues with the development of processes and workflows within People Hub to improve HR performance
  • Ensure that all HR activity is updated onto People Hub on a timely basis
  • Checking task list and ensuring that inductions and contracts have been returned
  • Supporting HR Manager and HR advisor with variation and probation letters
  • Responding to reference requests for ex-employees  in a timely manner

  • Organise appropriate gifts/cards for significant birthdays/events as and when required and record on People Hub
  • To support where required on recruitment campaigns and with our vetting process (DBS, references, right to work etc.) ensuring all colleagues have the appropriate documentation and any areas for concern are raised with the HR Manager
  • Ensure that BCHG’s recruitment processes are adhered to by issuing all correspondence in respect of the employment offer
  • Manage the Groups ID card database ensuring colleagues are issued with ID cards and expired cards are renewed
  • Assist the Head of People with specific projects as and when required
  • Attend meetings and/or training and development activities, and represent BCHG, as required
  • Support the Head of People in the development, implementation and delivery of the Groups People Strategy
  • Update the NMDS with starters and leavers
  • Manage and maintain click send, ensuring the system is updated with starters and leavers accordingly
  • Looking after the Learning Hub (BCHG’s training room) and setting up for training events
  • Opening and distributing the post on the HR teams allocated day
  • Supporting with the coordination and delivery of colleague events
  • Supporting with basic payroll tasks when required
  • Managing the HR Inbox and respond to HR queries

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • HR level 3 apprenticeship
  • English and maths Functional Skills level 2 (if applicable)
  • Off-the-job training to take place at Protocol in Birmingham City Centre.
  • On-the-job training at employer location.
  • Training will be one day per week.
