What will the apprentice be doing?
- Adhere to all nursery policies and procedures at all times.
- Ensure iconnect is updated promptly for meals, sleeps and nappies.
- Ensure you are aware of all their key children’s needs and any areas where they need to be supported and are able to link this to any room planning ensuring there are always clear links to the activities and experiences being offered.
- Ensure there are child led and adult led learning opportunities consistently offered throughout the day and the children are continually provided with activities and experiences to keep them busy, happy, challenged, and curious.
- Ensure the activities provided are exciting, interesting, safe, and appropriate for the age of the children based on their interests and needs.
- Ensure that we are embedding characteristics of effective learning and British values into our day-to-day practices and interactions with the children, and that planning promotes celebration of a variety of cultures to expand children’s knowledge and awareness.
- Ensure the children’s care routines are carried out correctly, in a way that supports their learning and development and takes advantage of the one-on-one time and not to suit organisational needs.
- Ensure all paperwork relating to the children is up-to-date and of a high quality at all times, such as any individual plans, behaviour plans and SEN plans.
- Ensure all daily/weekly checks are completed correctly, and any issues are reported to the Manager/Deputy/Owner from these and any other issues that occur during the day.
- Always speaking in a respectful, kind and caring way to children, parents/carer and each other in ways conducive to providing high quality care to our children.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.
- First Aid qualification.
- Functional Skills (if required).
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Full-time position.
