What will the apprentice be doing?

As a Technical Support Engineer Apprentice, your role is predominantly office based but does also involve working on site alongside a senior engineer to gain experience.

  • Provide technical support on Toshiba & Carrier residential and light commercial air conditioning systems.
  • You will join a well-established technical support team and would be trained, supported/mentored by that team.
  • Working with a qualified engineer on site undertaking commissioning, fault finding and customer support activities.
  • Work in the office alongside our experience technical support engineers providing technical support to our customers and distributors.
  • The role would require the person to be capable of absorbing technical information from books, manuals and web based resources in order to gain product knowledge.
  • Attend college one day per week (day release).
  • In-house training courses would also be provided.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Across 3 years and upon successful completion, you will gain an NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Installation & Commissioning Air Conditioning & Heat pump systems, to become a fully qualified Technical Support Engineer.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
