What will the apprentice be doing?

Main Duties:

  • Answering incoming telephone calls – dealing with enquiries or transferring the call to the correct person or taking a message
  • Making out going calls to customers and suppliers
  • Dealing with and booking surveys for website enquiries
  • Working in a busy inbox – incoming and outgoing emails
  • Typing up quotations
  • Typing up invoices and receipts through QuickBooks
  • Managing the surveyors’ diaries
  • Greeting visitors
  • Helping with risk assessments
  • Typing up accept jobs
  • Other general admin duties

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

An apprenticeship allows you to earn a wage, gain valuable work experience and industry specific competence. You will be expected to work towards the Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard, with support from your employer and the Chesterfield College Group.

As part of your apprenticeship, and dependent on your prior attainment, you may be required to complete maths and English Functional Skills which is an integral part of your apprenticeship. Upon successful completion you will be awarded additional certificates of recognition for these qualifications.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

After the apprenticeship we are hoping to offer the individual a full-time position within our administration team.

Dalton Roofing are a well-established Roofing Company that has been running for over 30 years. Philip Dalton started the business over 30 years ago on his own with 1 van and another roofer. The business has developed from a small business with a couple of workers to now having over 25 employees, he has really worked hard to grow the business and get it to where it is today. We mainly deal with Roof repairs and maintenance throughout the Sheffield, Chesterfield, Rotherham and the Peak District area. Dalton Roofing is a family run business, with Phil’s wife, son and daughter working alongside him.
