What will the apprentice be doing?
- Applying specialist methods and techniques required to assemble, test and inspect high precision and safety-critical components/instrumentation to the exacting quality standards required
- To partake in and aid the skills transfer from the existing team, to ensure key expertise is retained
- The Ultra manufacturing function is responsible for the manufacture, integration and test of a wide range of products and systems providing innovative capabilities for our customers
- The Assembly function assembles and wires difficult and complex assemblies, using drawings, operation sets and engineering documents. The Test function will test, fault find and identify the repair to be undertaken on a range of products to meet our customer commitments in terms of quality and timescales
- Provide high quality assembly expertise
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Qualifications included:
- Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship Standard. Company training plan & assessment
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering - Development Knowledge (1 day per week for 2 years at college)
Development Competence Qualification (workplace) - Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (If required)
- End Point Assessment at the end of the apprenticeship
