What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Speaking to customers over phone on a daily basis
  • Taking orders from customers and booking them onto the internal system
  • Checking different transport options to ensure customer requirement can be fulfilled
  • Responding to email enquiries
  • Liaising with drivers and customers regarding route planning
  • Confirming delivery times
  • Providing timely updates for customers and keeping them informed of the progress of their jobs
  • General admin including filing, scanning, photocopying, post etc.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Customer Service Practitioner level 2 apprenticeship standard.

Work based learning with college attendance required one day a month. College attendance maybe required for functional skills.

Things to consider

To have a positive attitude and willing to learn and will enjoy working as part of a team. Basic computer skills are required although full training will be provided on internal systems. We are looking for good communication skills, attention to detail and well organised. Knowledge of MS Word and Excel would be an advantage although full training will be provided. To be punctual & reliable.
